Shimmie Horn: The opening of the Chandler

Triumph Hospitality, the hotel brand owned by Shimmie Horn, has recently renovated its Hotel Chandler New York on 12 East 31st Street in Manhattan.

Designed by Jorge L. Portero, the Hotel Chandler NY shows off numerous architectural elements reminiscent of the Beaux Arts era. Portero’s other projects include restoration of The Avalon, Hotel Elysee, The Sherry Netherland, Hotel Metro and The Warwick.
One of the first details to be noticed in the Hotel Chandler is the marble floor of the grand lobby, which features a refined star design. In the winter, the floors are covered with select patterned carpeting. The hotel has fourteen floors, one hundred and twenty-three rooms and eight sweets, all accessed by an airy, refurbished spiral staircase.

The cherry and ebony wood theme fits nicely in with the blocks of Provence blue arranged throughout the hotel, while the bathrooms give off a Paris-like vibe. The hotel also offers a fitness center, a Finnish sauna, a library room, a desktop computer, flat screen TV and more. The newly added 12:31 bar adds a modern, social air to the hotel’s atmosphere.

Shimmie Horn’s Triumph Hospitality brand includes the Iroquois New York, Washington Jefferson Hotel and Hotel Belleclaire as well.
