Enjoying with Active Kids

There are so many great ways to enjoy time with kids in the Brooklyn area. This guide offers more than a dozen ideas for getting out of the house and having fun, just for the next few days. Here are just a few of the spaces and activities they suggest.

Friday, May 3: On the first Friday of each month, the Brooklyn Public Library offers a 30 minute reading and singing with librarian Sarah. This will take place at the Smith Street location from 1-2pm.

Saturday, May 4: Get the kids outside for learning and activity. The Bee Conservancy, Earth Matter NY and GrowNYC are offering a tour of the Urban Farm on Governors Island. The tour will take place from 2-3:30 and is offered on the first Saturday each month.

Sunday, May 5: Japan Village is going to be celebrating Children’s Day from 12-6 where people can come to enjoy Mochitsuki, origami coloring, a Japanese sword performance by Zentokan Dojo and more.

These are just a few of the many examples of fun activities that await your enjoyment in Gowanus this week and weekend. Learn about these and so many other choices.
