Bobby Sharma of Bluestone Equity Invests in RWS

Bobby Sharma, Founder and Managing Partner of Bluestone Equity Partners, a New York City-based private equity firm, recently invested $20 million in RWS Global, an entertainment agency that services more than 600 events a year around the world. With its recent acquisition of Great Big Events, a sports entertainment outfit based in Waterloo, Australia, RWS is quickly expanding into the sports sector.

In a LinkedIn post, Sharma referred to RWS as a “remarkable company with a (fittingly) remarkable story, RWS Global provides over 1 million live moments to guests in over 50 countries, across 6 continents and all 7 seas, every single day.”

Sports entertainment is a familiar area for Bluestone executives Bobby Sharma, former Vice President of the NBA, and Kyle Charters, the former Managing Director at Inner Circle Sports. In 2023, Sharma and Bluestone raised $300 million for its growth equity fund, which will be focused on global sports and entertainment.

The growing popularity of live sporting events makes it an attractive asset to boutique investment bankers in New York and beyond.
