Summer Movie Fun

Few things say summer like movies in the park. Brooklyn Magazine, in collaboration with Paramount+ and BSE Global, has just announced their summer outdoor movie series and it’s definitely worth adding to the calendar. From June through September, there will be four movie locations including: McCarren Park, Prospect Park’s Long Meadow, Fort Greene Park, and, for the first time, Coney Island.

The series starts on June 7 at McCarren Park with a showing of the comedy Zoolander. Unique to this year, attendees will enjoy complimentary popcorn on a first-come, first-served basis with required RSVP. Additionally, Barcode, a plant-based functional beverage brand, will offer product samples during the July and August events.

This marks the inaugural year for screenings at Coney Island. The Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty will also be at some of the events with DJs, interactive games, and surprise appearances.

Screening schedule:

  • McCarren Park: Zoolander (June 7), Empire Records (June 14), But I’m a Cheerleader (June 28)
  • Prospect Park, Long Meadow: Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 26), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (July 3), and others
  • Coney Island, Coney Island Beach at West 12th Street: Titles including Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (July 18) and Everything Everywhere All At Once (July 25)
  • Fort Greene Park: Includes Past Lives (August 15) and Bob Marley: One Love (August 29)

For precise screening times, which will vary with sunset, visitors are encouraged to consult Brooklyn Magazine’s website.
