The Most Romantic Valentine’s Day Spots in Brooklyn

It’s Valentine’s Day, one of the most romantic days of the year, and whether you’re married, dating or single, plans must be made.

Some of New York’s most warm and romantic spots are located right here in Brooklyn, and new moments can be made right outside your door.

One of the nicest spots in the borough is the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. The quiet, natural atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening stroll or picnic, and while many plants don’t live through the winter, there are collections like the South African Bulbs, daffodils and the Steinhardt Conservatory’s Warm Temperate House.

The Botanical Garden also hosts numerous events for those seeking love, including chocolate fairs and salsa dance parties. Kate Blumm, the Botanical Garden spokeswoman, said “The garden is one of the best places to meet someone male or female who is not a creep.”

Well, that’s surely a plus side.

Another great date is Coney Island. So what if the rides are closed? The boardwalk will be clean and chilly, thanks to the wind off the harbor, forcing you to huddle close while you enjoy each other’s company. The area is filled with romantic restaurants as well, including dance floors, candlelight and breathtaking fish tanks.

There’s also Ocean Avenue Footbridge, another romantic bay spot with a quieter, cozier feel, also surrounded by fantastic eateries towards Manhattan Beach.

Other great spots include Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Commandant Mansion and many others. Or, if the weather is bad, why not just stay home and have a cozy, romantic night in the comfort of your own home.
