Brooklyn’s Indoor Entertainment Venues

As we enter the winter’s coldest months, many families are feeling cooped up in their homes. When the kids are itching to get outdoors, the unpredictable weather often doesn’t allow for it. Luckily, there are a few new, indoor recreational centers that recently opened in Brooklyn.

PlayWell is a new inclusive play space right here in Gowanus. The facility offers free play hours, as well group classes for various ages. Some of the activities include story time, art, and music. For those with young children, the center offers drop-in options for 0-6 year olds.

Those who are looking for a bit more adventure may want to check out Urban Air Adventure Park in Sunset Park. This trampoline and adventure park has a range of indoor entertainment opportunities. There is dodgeball, tumble track, battle beams, and slam dunk zone for the sports lovers, while the tubes playground and countless trampolines will keep the younger crew busy for hours.

For a more specialized afternoon out, PingPod is a fully automated space dedicated to table tennis, conveniently located on Fulton Street. Visitors can take lessons, participate in a class, or reserve a table to play with friends. In the summer, the center will run camps as well.

While the winter months can sometimes feel like a drag, there is plenty to do indoors and locally! Grab a coat, slip on some gloves, and come visit one of Brooklyn’s newest entertainment destinations!
