Visionaire 61 Is Larger Than Life

The Visionaire Gallery is not in Brooklyn, but since Brooklyners are know to be artsy types, and love bargains to boot, here is a free event that Brooklyners can appreciate.

SoHo What?

Want to see the largest fashion magazine ever produced according to the Guinness Book of World Records? On November 21st the editors from the extraordinarily unique art/fashion magazine Visionaire will begin to display its five foot by seven foot issue at the Visionaire Gallery at 11 Mercer Street in SoHo.

The magazine is published three times a year in limited editions, and each edition is dedicated to a particular theme. The artists, stylists and photographers are then free to interpret that theme and create work for the issue.

Visionaire 61

Its BIG

The latest issue, called “Larger than Life” features works by Steven Meisel, Maurizion Cattelan, Marilyn Minter and Ryan McGinley. The cover is a photograph by the couple Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, of Lady Gaga as a mermaid slicked down with oil.

If you would like to own the standard edition of this remarkable magazine, the four foot tall version can be yours for a mere $375. But you can see the seven foot tall deluxe edition absolutely free at the Visionaire Gallery. (It is also available for purchase for $1,500.)
