Macy’s in Manhattan’s Herald Square got a little more excitement than they were counting on yesterday. A fire started under an escalator near the Broadway end of the building between the second and third floors. At first, they only evacuated the third and fourth floors, but soon decided to empty the entire store. It took the firefighters 25 minutes to contain the blaze.
Better shopping another day!
