Staycation at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Whether you have big travel plans this month or you won’t be taking any time off, the summer always calls for spending more time outdoors. There are weekends to fill up and long afternoons of sunlight. Sometimes, the best outings are the ones right outside your doorstep!

Brooklyn Bridge Park offers something for everyone. Whether your idea of “vacation” is adventure or relaxation, this scenic park has something for you.

Along the water and covering 85 acres, Brooklyn Bridge Park is a “Garden of Eden” within the busy city. The park offers stretches of grassy grounds for running around freely, lying down to read or sunbathe, playing catch or frisbee, gathering with friends and family…and plenty more. In addition to open areas, there are playgrounds, pickleball courts, and roller-skating lots.

Not only is there an abundance of recreational opportunities, but the Brooklyn Bridge Park has unbeatable views of the Manhattan skyline. In the words of Brooklyn Bridge Corporation President Eric Landau, “The view is pretty extraordinary. The Manhattan skyline is right behind us, right here on the water. Great views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, you really can’t beat it.”

And, if you’re lucky enough, you may happen upon a movie screening or concert, or one of the other 500 free events held in the park throughout the year.
