Tyron Birkmeir, Founder and Chairman of the invitation-only global investment firm Lurra Capital, has announced that the firm has secured a $7 million allocation through one of its affiliates to back LurraPay. LurraPay is a multi-currency stablecoin banking platform designed to merge virtual fiat accounts with hardware-level self-custody.

For institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients who manage cross-border assets, navigating the boundary between fiat and digital currencies has historically required stitching together multiple separate providers. LurraPay addresses this by providing a single account where individuals and businesses can move seamlessly between traditional fiat currencies and digital assets without having to trust a third party with their private keys. The platform offers EUR, USD, and GBP virtual accounts powered by USDC and EURC. Its on-ramp, off-ramp, and swap capabilities are run by licensed financial partners, with payment rails powered by MoonPay, whose network spans over 35 million verified accounts across 180 countries.

Secure Hardware Native Self-Custody

To secure these transactions, LurraPay has developed a standalone hardware wallet scheduled to ship in September 2026. Developed under LurraPay CTO Edward Nastase, the wallet is designed and assembled in the European Union using non-Chinese components.

The hardware device allows users to transact completely independently without requiring a USB cable, a companion mobile app, or a paired computer. The security core generates, stores, and seals private keys entirely on the device, ensuring they never leave the secure hardware boundary. Designed to meet high hardware security standards, the wallet utilizes isolation technology to meet PSA Certified Level 3 requirements. Out of the box, the device will support more than 500 coins across over 50 blockchain networks.

Infrastructure for Wealth Management

Birkmeir’s investment through his affiliate follows a track record of backing foundational technology and infrastructure firms, with Lurra Capital’s publicly reported portfolio including stakes in SpaceX, Redwood Materials, and Dataminr.

Birkmeir views stablecoin infrastructure as the rapidly emerging default settlement layer for cross-border wealth management. LurraPay is positioned to capture this shift by offering a unified product that pairs licensed fiat-to-stablecoin access with hardware-native self-custody—a combination Birkmeir notes has not previously existed in a single product.

Pre-orders for the hardware wallet are currently open at lurrapay.com/wallet, with both the virtual banking accounts and the devices scheduled to reach clients this September.
