Every Mother Counts…Mother’s Day Run

If you’re looking for a meaningful, and slightly unusual, way to spend Mother’s Day – here is a beautiful idea. The Brooklyn Mother’s Day half marathon, 10k and 5k will take place on May 11, 2025 at Prospect Park. The race is put on by Every Mother Counts to raise awareness and money for the organization that works to make pregnancy and childbirth safe, respectful and equitable. As they say, “In the average time it takes a runner to complete a marathon, approximately 150 women will die from complications related to pregnancy and childbirth.”

Every Mother Counts works with organizations around the world to improve access to quality maternity care. They explain on their website that, “Since 2010, we have invested more than $24 million through over 100 grants that support proven models of care in 16 countries across the world. Through our grantmaking, we have directly impacted over one million people.” Learn more about this organization, get your running shoes on, and join in the run for Mother’s Day!
