Learning about Local Talent

It’s always inspiring to learn about neighbors who are doing great things. And Nundiah Danielle Edwards is definitely one such neighbor. She is the founder of two businesses in Park Slope, Brooklyn and both businesses are worth supporting and enjoying.

These businesses include the New Body Project, a women-only boot camp studio; and Atrium82, a micro-wedding venue. The New Body Project is a nurturing space for women to get into shape and to meet other like-minded women. The studio has HIIT training, nutrition guidance, mindset coaching and more. As described on their website, “The New Body Project has transformed the culture of the fitness industry while encouraging the importance of community, commitment, transformation, integrity, and philanthropy.”

Atrium 82 is Edwards latest venture and offers the perfect space for small gatherings and wellness activities.

Edwards jokingly refers to herself as the “accidental CEO” because she didn’t initially plan to be an entrepreneur. Her journey began when she struggled to balance her corporate career with raising her children, which made it difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle. After being laid off from her job, she found herself working at a women-focused fitness studio which gave her a sense of community. When that studio closed, the women in the community raised $3,000 to encourage Edwards to open her own space, which became The New Body Project.

When the pandemic hit, Edwards was forced to shut down her classes. During this time, she decided to sell her house and open Atrium82, a micro-wedding venue for couples seeking an affordable and intimate wedding. Atrium82 and The New Body Project now operate in the same building.
