Taking place on Saturday, January 9th thru Sunday January 10th, this festival is a great way for novice choreographers with less than three years of experience displaying their work in New York City to connect with each other and develop their ideas. The festival is curated by Shannon Hummel and features the work of 12-14 dance artists over three evenings. Upstart not only offers a forum for these up and coming choreographers to strut their stuff, it also supports the new talent with modest stipends and gives these artists a to network and discuss their art in a round table format.

The auditions will be held at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange/BAX which is located at 421 5th Avenue in Brooklyn. For more information you can visit http://bax.org/.
